About us

Hi, we're Sophie and Ted.

We’re a husband and wife team from Surrey and proud parents to two gorgeous boys.

Our family life is chaotic and predictable in equal measure. One minute we're juggling nursery runs with full-time jobs, the next we're out on muddy buggy runs or making a mess in the kitchen. It's a wild ride but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Life is messy and ridiculous, especially with kids. But it's also what makes it marvellous, and we want to celebrate that.

With professional backgrounds in design and product management, that's why we decided to create a new baby in Sophie & Ted.

Our collections are designed to be authentic, inspired by real things we’ve said, thought and felt. No fuss, no trends. Just quietly characterful clothing that reflects real life.

We hope you find something that feels right at home with you too.

It all starts in the British countryside

Everything we sell is designed by hand from our home in Surrey, between nappies and nursery runs.

Life's loud enough as it is

We don't need our clothes shouting too. So we're not big logo people. We're all about subtle, wearable and meaningful designs.

If we wouldn't wear it, we won't sell it

We wouldn't call ourselves trendy people. So there's nothing fast about our fashion. We wanted quality clothes with designs that feel authentic and relatable. So we designed some.

We've had enough of plastic

We all know there's too much plastic in our lives. So we're trying to do our bit. No horrible labels or silly tags here. Just 100% paper-based packaging that you reuse, recycle, or compost at home.

For all the moments you don't post

Let's not pretend that every day is a breeze. Real life is messy. But we love it. We celebrate the tantrums, the spills, the cold teas. We'll laugh about it later.

We're really picky about the materials we use. We could have gone cheaper. But we've gone sustainable instead. So you can wear our clothes day in, day out — and feel good about it too.
